What did I do on my birthday and what did I get so excited about? Most of you thought I would go to watch a movie, which I almost did. But then I really wanted to enjoy my present to myself to the full. I did without the movie theater for once and went straight to a hotel not far from home. That meant no stress in the evening, no sleep deprivation, no rush in the morning BUT calmness in the evening, watching horror B-movies through the night, sleeping for hours, silence in the morning, restorative bubble bath, breakfast in bed, … do I need to go on?
When I arrived in the evening at the over booked hotel, they upgraded my reservation for a single room to a suite with living room, kitchen, etc. which was great, as I had taken delicious dinner along and had forgotten my fork and knife. Did I mention the fridge with free water, free beer, free….
No one guessed what I did that night, so I chose Katrin as the winner: for her wild imagination and for calling me Wonder Woman and for mentioning Bill Compton and Ganesha and funny stories about Shah Rukh Khan and for making me laugh. And I wanted to post a drawing done by her anyway. She visited the opening of my show Skulls & Wings in October and later she drew this picture of me. She called it “Princess of Darkness”. I like it a lot. Thanks Katrin. Just let me know, whether you would like to receive a postcard with a skull or a bird or anything else on it and send my your address. I´ll try to get it out to you before Christmas.
I guess, I´ll repeat this kind of art giveaway from time to time. It is fun!
